At The Signals Network, we are committed to hold powerful interests accountable by protecting and empowering whistleblowers who expose information vital to the public interest.
A growing need for support
In 2024, The Signals Network experienced unprecedented growth in our mission to protect and support whistleblowers worldwide. We received 151 requests for assistance—a 48% increase from 2023—demonstrating the growing need for whistleblower protection and support.
Throughout the year, we provided comprehensive support to 40 individuals across more than 10 countries, offering a range of critical services including legal counsel, psychosocial support, security measures, physical safety protocols, media guidance, financial assistance, and employment support. Our client base reflected diverse sectors, with particularly strong representation from the technology (35%) and healthcare (14%) industries, highlighting the vital role of whistleblowers in these critical sectors.
Public awareness
The courage of our whistleblowers led to significant public impact, with their disclosures resulting in at least 15 investigations published by major media outlets, reaching global audiences.
Increasing access to legal support
Through our strong network of partners, we successfully secured pro bono support for over 70% of our clients, maximizing the impact of our resources. We thank our partners for their hard work and support.
Building the whistleblower community
To further our mission of promoting transparency and accountability, we participated in 10 international events throughout the year, engaging with journalists, partners, and the public to educate and raise awareness about the vital importance of whistleblowing in today’s society.

In an era of unprecedented power consolidation and rising threats to democracy, whistleblowers are critial. Yet the risks and costs of exposing wrongdoing have never been higher.
