Chief of Staff
Kate Miller is the Chief of Staff at The Signals Network, bringing a wealth of experience in nonprofit leadership and a passion for social impact. With a career spanning over seven years in mission-driven organizations, Kate has developed expertise in strategic planning, resource development, philanthropic partnerships, board development, and nonprofit operations.
Kate will also serve as Interim Executive Director of TSN during the parental leave of TSN Executive Director Delphine Halgand-Mishra.
Most recently, Kate served as Chief of Staff at The Intercept, where she played a pivotal role in the organization’s transition to becoming an independent nonprofit. As a key member of the senior leadership team, Kate was instrumental in overseeing the complex process, ensuring operational continuity and strategic alignment. Her tenure at The Intercept also included positions as Senior Director of Development and Director of Major Gifts, driving fundraising efforts and building strong donor relationships amid significant organizational change. Kate was selected as a member of the Institute for Nonprofit News’ Emerging Leaders Council in 2023.
Kate’s journey with The Intercept began at First Look Institute, where she held key positions in major gifts and philanthropy operations. Prior to First Look, Kate worked at mothers2mothers, an international nonprofit, where she managed individual giving programs and development operations.
Kate resides outside New York City with her partner and three children.
