225% increase in direct support & Journalist training coming up

225% increase in direct support of whistleblowers – Help us!

The need for whistleblower support is growing faster than ever. In just a few months of 2025, we’ve already received 69 new requests for help and we’ve been able to support 36 whistleblowers. Compared to the same period last year, that’s a 176% increase in requests and a 225% increase in direct support. Remarkably, that’s nearly as many whistleblowers as we supported throughout all of 2024. This dramatic rise shows just how critical our work is—and how urgent the need for protection is right now.

Will you donate today to help us meet this growing demand?

Whistleblowers are coming forward in greater numbers than ever, risking everything to expose corruption, abuse and injustice. We cannot turn our backs on them. Their courage depends on us. They need us—and we need YOU to ensure they’re not left vulnerable.

Your support will directly help provide the protection and resources they deserve at a time when they need it most. We can’t do this without you. Act NOW!

ICYMI — TSN is Launching Journalist Training to Better Protect Sensitive Sources

The Signals Network is teaming up with the Reynolds Journalism Institute (RJI) to launch a new training program for journalists working with sensitive sources. It’s a major step forward in protecting the people who make truth-telling possible.

Sensitive sources include whistleblowers, undocumented individuals, community members and others who face real risks when contributing to news coverage. As government and corporate power merges with rapidly evolving technology, the threats these individuals face are more serious—and more complex—than ever before.

This training will equip journalists with the tools and knowledge to keep these sources safe and heard.

Reach out if you’d like more information for a training in your newsroom or have any thoughts—we’d love to hear from you.

TSN Joins 60+ Organizations in Defense of Press Freedom

TSN is proud to stand alongside more than 60 organizations in signing onto an important amicus brief defending the legal protections essential to a free press. As the filing states, “The press plays a vital role in the maintenance of democratic governance. To fulfill that function, the press relies on the work of lawyers… [who]… assist the press in obtaining access to records and government spaces… advise the press on how to handle sensitive sources and content. And they defend the press against civil and criminal threats for their publications.

These critical roles in support of a free and independent press which often relies on information from sensitive sources would be adversely impacted by the President’s executive orders targeting law firms like Perkins Coie.
