Great news for our 8th birthday!

Happy Birthday to TSN!

TSN turned 8 this November!

Over the years, you have followed our work; reading, believing and standing with truth-tellers around the world. You know the stakes, the threats and the courage it takes to speak out.

Each month, new truth-tellers reach out for help. Some are safer because we we’re ready. Others are still waiting for the help they need — and this is why we’re starting our end-of-year effort to build steady support for the months ahead.

If 100 readers seeing this took action today by giving $15 a month, TSN would be ready for the next call. We are all responsible for the safety of those who speak out. Your being one of our 100 can shape what happens next. What part do you want to play in it?

TSN received a $50,000 grant from UpMobility Foundation.

We’re happy to share that TSN has received a $50,000 grant from UpMobility Foundation to support our work with whistleblowers. It’s a meaningful boost and a reminder that more and more partners believe in standing with people who take risks to speak up.

Support like this directly strengthens the protection whistleblowers can rely on and we hope this good news brings you the same sense of encouragement it brings us.

Welcoming our new board member: Madeleine Buckingham

We’re happy to welcome Madeleine Buckingham as the newest member of TSN’s board. Madeleine is currently the Center for Investigative Reporting’s chief financial officer. Previously, she was president and CEO and also served as chief operating officer. She has spent more than 30 years in senior finance and management positions in the publishing and tech industries.

When Madeleine doesn’t have her head buried in a set of financials or isn’t trying to save non-profit journalism, you can most likely find her trail running, kayaking, traveling, listening to live music or immersed in a good history book in front of a roaring campfire.

In her own words: “After spending much of my career on the journalism side of revelatory and impactful storytelling, and in an environment where accountability and transparency seems to be in limited supply, I felt it was critical to do all I can to support those individuals most in the crosshairs and at risk, whistleblowers.

We’re grateful she’s joining us at this moment in our work. Learn more about Madeleine and our board members here.
