Meeting the Moment
Meeting the Moment
With each day, more individuals take a courageous stand for the truth and pursue accountability for systemic abuses of power and privilege. In fiscal year 2024, the SEC reported a record number of whistleblower tips, while the DOJ recorded the highest number of qui tam lawsuits filed in a single year. This trend has carried over into the first half of 2025, as The Signals Network has seen a 289% year-over-year increase in requests received from whistleblowers seeking assistance, with a majority of those requests coming from within the United States.
As this number grows, however, the number of challenges these individuals face does too—a fact that has been most apparent at the government agencies positioned to ensure accountability.
We Signed for AI Transparency
The Signals Network joined 100+ other academics, organizations and public figures in calling for OpenAI to offer the world greater transparency concerning its upcoming restructuring. The open letter TSN signed emphasizes the need for clear governance, accountability and safeguards to ensure that advanced AI technologies are developed responsibly and in the public interest.
Push for Published Whistleblowing Policies
If you work in Frontier AI, this message is for you—and your colleagues.
You’re uniquely positioned to spot early warning signs of AI risks. But how protected are you when you need to report concerns? Do you even know your company’s whistleblowing procedures?
Here’s what we’re asking:
→ Share this transparency call with your teammates
→ Discuss whether your company’s policies are publicly accessible
→ Push for whistleblowing transparency from within your organization
Together with other organizations, TSN is supporting this campaign to make published whistleblowing policies the industry standard.
TSN Stands with Whistleblower Alhaji Mamadi Kurang
Alhaji Mamadi Kurang is a Gambian whistleblower who spoke up after discovering serious problems with how public money was managed by government officials. Instead of staying silent, he shared information about alleged corruption that could harm the people of Gambia.
We believe whistleblowers like Kurang deserve support, not targeting. That’s why The Signals Network joined other civil society organizations in signing a public statement calling for his protection and for action against those threatening him.
